Wow I can not believe how incredibly fast last year went! I also cannot begin to tell you everything our family has accomplished and did in just 12 short months. Now that Christmas break is over I can finally sit down and focus!
Every year starts off the same we go straight from celebrating the new year right into JPG3 and Rose's birthday. While they are 3 years apart their birthdays are only 6 days! (Look at all the money flying out the window)
All through last year they have worked becoming stronger and more focused. Both JPG3 and Rose have worked their way all the way up to green belt. I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of them. While it is harder for JPG3 due to his low muscle tone. He has exceeded our exceptions of putting him in a sport. Rose is an amazing athlete. Which I know damn well she didn't get that from
me! Through the year Rose has done several shows with her Demo team. The local mall, an Asian festival, on the field at a minor league baseball game and then a major show for our dojo. She is perfecting her fan (which is her weapon). JPG3 is now learning the bo staff and has done his first show.
JPG3 still amazes us when it comes to drama. He brought down the house singing! Oh yes, you read that right. My child, my shy, anxious, child stood up in front of not only his school and classmates but parents and teachers!! I cried, his teachers cried, my mom, hell even my father had some tears in his eyes. He amazes me everyday. He continues to come out of his shell and blossom into an amazing guy!
This summer has been a huge for several reasons. First part of the summer was a therapy program for JPG3. It was long and hard work. For 6 weeks we were there 3 hours 3 days a week. He worked so hard. He worked on physical, speech and occupational therapy. While it was bitter sweet he "graduated" from both PT and OT. So many of his therapist were part of our support system and now they are not, but it means that he is progressing so much! This time was really hard on Rose and JD. It was 9 hours a week that we spent at the children's hospital. We had our ups and downs and lots of walking around the halls to get JD to sleep, lots of playing on the playground and lots of trips to the cafeteria for ice water!
Big Daddy and I celebrated our 10 year wedding
anniversary on a cruise with my wonderful sister-in-law and brother-in-law! Seventeen year relationship! Its just crazy. While we've had our ups and downs, (you can read about all of that in an earlier blog) we grow closer and closer everyday!
I have started to do more and more for myself. At some point having children, especially being a stay at home mom, you forget to take care of you. Well I've started to do that. Every 2 weeks I get my nails done. Something so small means the world to me. Sitting by myself for an hour is wonderful! I have started this blog. I am letting all of you into the crazy land that is my brain and have welcomed you into my family. I am working so hard with making my business work. I am slowly adding products. One day I will be sitting in my own cute little shop selling cute bows, bow-ties and natural beauty products! (*Just a dream*)
While 2018 has already started off as a shit show. I am trying to stay optimistic that at some point our little black cloud will turn into big fluffy white ones! Tomorrow I see my surgeon. I will mostly likely be having back surgery. I'm scared shitless, but I cannot continue to live like this. While is will be limited I will have lots of time to think which means more blogging!! Yay! I know you all wait to read what nonsense the Glick's are up too. (hahaha)
I hope that you all had a wonderful end to 2017 and ready to make 2018 a great year!
